Rebecca Black?

Rebecca Black isn’t Kanye West – she’s some thirteen year old girl who may or may not have written this song – I can’t find the credits immediately, but the lyrics sound like something that a person in their very early teens would write.
I know it might sound weird coming from me, but it's true.

There’s no mention of love or relationships in the song because this girl is obviously not to that point in her life. There’s no mention of what “partying” means, although she is so excited by the notion of doing it that she mentions the word twice.  In some weird way, if you asked a thirteen year old to describe what their dream weekend would be, it would probably sound a lot like what Rebecca Black sings about in “Friday”, which is to say some vague and unspecified “partying” and having “fun, fun, fun, fun”.
The “fun, fun, fun, fun” part is revelatory in a sense. Whether Black or whatever producers sculpted the song and lyrics out of nothing knew it or not, they were tying their creating into another pop song from a different era: “Fun, Fun, Fun” by The Beach Boys..

And then, I saw a YouTube video; it was an interview, and Rebecca said: She wishes Justin Bieber would do a duet with her.
Personally, I think she's moving too fast here. From the moment that "Friday" song was uploaded, the only thing people did was dislike the damn video!

Also, she doesn't know how to sing! So, they auto-tune her voice.
Seriously, so many people are doing that nowadays. I can barely remember the musicians that are actually good! With a descent voice.

Conclusion is; if she doesn't want haters on her side, she should either come up with better songs, and auto-tune her voice when necessary, or not sing at all.

  1. Haha, I like this but I've got to say a few things.
    A) I think that the people who produced the song or gave her the offer for a song or whatever, are the ones who wrote the song. And they gave her an option between two songs, one about 'partying' on Friday and one about 'adult love'. And since she's only 13, she relates more the the former so chose it.

B)Sometimes auto-tune is good (Ministry of Magic ;)) but I know what you mean.

    C) Her voice isn't THAT horrible. It's not perfect, but it isn't bad.

And D) I love reading your blogs. :) xx

  2. Then, that's a terrible song to write, and ask an innocent 13 year old to sing.

    How cruel...

Just because of the Ministry of Magic, Terry. I'm not going to comment on that. :P

And, if her voice isn't that horrible, she shouldn't auto-tone it THAT much.

    Why, Thankyou. <33

  3. It is cruel of them. And her parents, in a way...

And not only MoM! All Caps also, and Ke$ha? Wait, did I just say that? And by commenting on that, you commented on that. :P

I don't think she had much of a choice..

    And you're welcome! XX
